UNC (UNIFIED THREAD STANDARD)
UNC (Unified National Coarse) is part of the Unified Thread Standard (UTS), primarily used in North America. It has a coarse pitch with fewer threads per inch (TPI) than UNF (Unified National Fine), providing increased strength and durability in fasteners.
Characteristics:
- Thread Profile: 60° angle
- Thread Count: Coarse pitch with fewer threads per inch
- Applications: General mechanical construction, automotive industry, construction
- Advantages: Faster assembly, better resistance to wear and corrosion, stronger in softer materials
UNC threads are commonly used where quick assembly and durability are more important than precision.
