BSP (BRITISH STANDARD PIPE)

G (BSP) thread, also known as British Standard Pipe (BSP) parallel thread, is a widely used thread standard for pipe fittings and fluid systems. It is a parallel (straight) thread, meaning it does not provide a sealing function by itself and typically requires a sealing ring or gasket.

Characteristics:

  • Thread Type: Parallel (straight)
  • Thread Angle: 55°
  • Sealing Method: Requires an O-ring, gasket, or sealing compound
  • Applications: Plumbing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, industrial piping

G-thread is commonly used for pipe connections that do not rely on the thread itself for sealing but instead use additional sealing elements.
